Hurricane Laura Update
Golden Nugget Lake Charles is pleased to announce that the casino floor will open to the public at 7am on September 12.
As you know, a few weeks ago, Hurricane Laura caused widespread destruction to Southwest Louisiana. Our team has been working tirelessly to clean and properly prepare the property in anticipation of reopening. Many of our team members have stayed on property through this process due to their homes being damaged, as well as lack of water and electricity in the area, and I cannot thank them enough for their hard work and dedication.
We also greatly appreciate the first responders that have been working around the clock to restore essential services throughout our community. With over 700 of these first responders remaining at Golden Nugget, we are proud to partner with them to get the Southwest Louisiana community back on its feet.
With safety as our number one priority, we kindly ask that when you arrive in Lake Charles, you remain on I-10 and I-210 and exit directly at Exit 3 (Golden Nugget Blvd). This will permit minimal disruption to our first responders as they continue their hard work in surrounding neighborhoods.
As we continue to feed our employees, their families and first responders daily, there are still tens of thousands in our community remain without power or essential resources, and many homes and businesses were destroyed. If you would like to join in the recovery efforts of Southwest Louisiana, please consider donating or volunteering with the following charities who are providing relief and recovery efforts to those directly impacted in our community by this catastrophic event:

The Golden Nugget Lake Charles team is eager to welcome you back and to continue providing a safe and fun getaway. We thank you for your continued loyalty and we hope to see you soon!
Our focus remains on our employees, our community and recovery efforts. Additionally, beginning Friday, September 3, Golden Nugget employees will be offered a free meal daily from 11am – 5pm at the Buffet (up to 4 to-go meals per day will provided). Those that wish to participate should park in surface parking lot and enter through the bus lobby entrance with their employee ID or driver’s license.
The resort is currently operating to support the first responders who are reconnecting the water, electricity and essential services in the area. We are working tirelessly to cleanup and restore the property in an effort to reopen to the public as soon as possible. We thank all of the first responders, our team members and the community who have come together to rebuild Lake Charles.
Beginning Sunday, September 6, Golden Nugget will offer police, fire and EMT’s workers a free meal daily at the Buffet from 11am – 5pm. Those that wish to participate should park in surface parking lot and enter through the bus lobby entrance with their Police, Fire or EMT ID.
We look forward to serving our patrons when the time is right and deemed safe to do so. Stay safe and stay strong.
Details on reopening efforts will be updated frequently and communicated on social media and at https://www.goldennugget.com/lake-charles.
