Where to get your craft beer fix Downtown
Whether you are in town for a weekend of fun or perhaps attending a conference, I’d like to share with you my personal favorite hot spots to grab a brew that are in walking distance to the Golden Nugget Las Vegas! I’ll give you the perspective from a local who not only works Downtown, but loves hanging out Downtown as well. Scroll down for K5’s (aka me, Karina), top five of the month!
International Beer Bar
International Beer Bar is the perfect spot to take a break from gaming or walking Freemont Street. With 16 beers on draft, and 40 by the bottle, IBB covers all the bases by having European favorites such as Stella Artios Belgian Lager, Newcastle English Brown and Modelo Especial Mexican lager, while still offering American craft favorites like the notoriously hoppy Stone IPA, or Denver’s twist on a classic Belgian Ale Fat Tire. Be sure to try a local brew made only blocks away from the Golden Nugget, Tenaya Creek’s Hop Ride IPA does a fantastic job to capture Vegas’ passion for beer making with a well-balanced and drinkable bitter beer, with a fresh finish that can’t be beat.
In case you haven’t taken a walk down Fremont Street lately, Fremont Street does have its own microbrewery, Banger Brewing. My recommended must try is the Jalapeno Hefeweizen named “El Heffe.” If you like chips, salsa and beer, El Heffe is a no-brainer! Of course, there are many other local classics to choose from such as the “Perfect Ten” and the “Morning Joe” coffee bean infused Golden Ale. While you are there, take a tour of the onsite brew house.
Park on Fremont
First and foremost, please make sure you take a look at the art décor, design and taxidermy, there is nothing like the scenery in this place. Park on Fremont offers more than 50 beers to choose from, some off the menu! Their patios offer a perfect place to enjoy your brew. If you are overwhelmed by the options, feel free to ask the knowledgeable bartenders to help you pick the perfect beer for you! My recommended must try is the signature Wells Banana Bread Beer as it tastes exactly like its name and is a rare find.
How can I not be behind this place when they are dedicated to serving 100% American Craft Beer and small batch whiskey? The craft beer selection is extensive, including a gluten free beer. There is something for everyone and the food is phenomenal too!
Located in the Arts District in Downtown Las Vegas I invite you to visit the Hop Nuts Tap Room which is home to 20 craft beers on tap, 15 of which are brewed on location. I may be bias as a Las Vegas native but, The Golden Knight Beer is a must try! You won’t see many tourists as this is a local hot spot for great brews and great flavors.
